Size: 92 cm high and the diameter are 48 cm and sitting are 38 cm.

This chair is collected about 1965.

This beautiful tribal chair is carved from one piece of wood and was traditionally reserved for the chief of the village. It is distinctive with its three legs and its high back which is carved in a traditional geometric design.

The Gurage is one of the largest ethnic groups in Ethiopia and live mainly in the western highland and the southern parts of the country. They are predominantly cultivators.

A beautiful old Ethiopian chair carved from beautiful dense wood. It is very elegant and serves as a piece of functional sculpture.
