Arussi beaded jewelry are recognizable by their unique designs. Traditionally they are multiple strands of old European trade beads such as white hearts or "padre" beads with leather spacers. The Arussi (now referred to as the Arsi) are one of the many groups belonging to the largest tribe in Ethiopia, the Oromo. The Arsi live in central Ethiopia and are predominately cattle and sheep herders.
