Rare Ethiopian Borana Oromo Kallacha – Tribal Head Ornament from Ethiopia.

This is an authentic traditional head ornament known as a Kallacha worn by the Borana Oromo people of Southern Ethiopia. This ceremonial piece has deep cultural and symbolic significance and is usually worn by respected elders or chiefs as a symbol of authority, wisdom and social status.

The ornament is handmade from natural materials and has a metal conical tip attached to a semi-polished amber bone at the base of the Kallacha. It hangs on an old original leather cord. These ornaments are rarely found outside of Ethiopia and are highly prized by collectors of African tribal art and ethnographic artefacts.
